Wage & Hour Rights and Responsibilities
Wage Payment: Employee rights consist of:- Pay for all earnings made (INFO # 3) at the rate accepted by the employer and employee.
– Pay of at least minimum wage (INFO # 1), the appropriate Colorado or local minimum wage, and all earned overtime incomes without impermissible reductions from their incomes;.
– Pay of all made incomes without impermissible deductions (INFO # 16).
Labor Statutes, Rules, & Published Guidance
Statutes & Rules: DLSS imposes a number of Colorado’s wage and hour and other types of labor statutes and labor guidelines, consisting of the Colorado Wage Act, the Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards (” COMPS Order”), and the Equal Pay for job Equal Work Act. Please go to the Division’s Labor Statutes and Labor Rules web pages for present and previous versions of crucial Colorado labor statutes and guidelines.
Published Guidance: The Division’s main kinds of public guidance are:- INFOs (Interpretive Notices and Formal Opinions) – the Division’s formally approved notices, viewpoints, and explanations on different labor law subjects; and.

Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations
Demands & Complaints for Wages: If a company owes you incomes, you can send your employer a composed demand for of salaries by mail, email, text message, or other electronic means. A written demand might be sent to the employer at the same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for overdue salaries is submitted with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be found on our Demands, Complaints, job Responses, and Settlements webpage.
Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a total Labor Standards Complaint Form is gotten and evaluated, a letter explaining the nature of the grievance and the quantities declared to be owed is sent out to the company. Investigations Launched by the Division (” Direct Investigations”): The Division may conduct employer-wide direct investigations of potential violations of Colorado wage and hour law. If you would like to submit a tip, please email the Division at cdle_di_tips@state.co.us. If you would like to file a specific claim for unpaid wages, you should submit a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, job and Settlements website. To appeal a direct examination citation or several Notices of Assessment, a supposed employer might submit a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
